Intriguing, isn’t it? Our MycoPilot Course Level 1 makes this a reality, offering you a fundamental introduction to truffle scent training.
What is the MycoPilot Course Level 1?
This 4-hour course is a comprehensive program designed to kick-start your truffle hunting journey. With an emphasis on learning how to lure, mark behaviors, and understand behavior shaping, you’ll gain hands-on experience in guiding your dog to locate the correct scent in a minimally distracting field environment. By the end of the course, your dog will be trained to perform an alert on queue, marking the successful find of a truffle scent.
Is My Dog Suitable?
Before enrolling, make sure your dog can perform a reliable recall from 20 feet, remains quiet around other dogs, and can walk on a loose leash. Unfortunately, dog-aggressive dogs cannot participate in group classes, forays, or field trips.
Our Training Environment
The training sessions will take place in a distraction-free environment—an empty, windowless room for indoor classes, and a quiet lawn, park, or woodland area for outdoor ones. This setting ensures your dog can focus on the training, absorb the lessons, and refine their scent detection skills.
We Assess Progress
Each dog’s journey begins with a scent drive assessment test to measure current capabilities, ensuring the course fits their needs. And upon completion, your K9 companion undergoes a small assessment to showcase the level of training achieved. They will then receive a certificate of completion and some training aids to take home, setting them up for further success.
